News Release: HealthTech enterprise Health Delivered secures investment from Social Accelerator One10
For Immediate Release – Melbourne, 9th March 2016: One10, Australia’s national accelerator program dedicated to commercialising purpose-driven enterprises, has accepted its first participant into its Social Accelerator.
One10 has made an initial investment in the HealthTech based platform dedicated to social good. “We’re very pleased to announce our first investment is in Health Delivered, following a due diligence period we worked with the co-founders to reach a mutually beneficial deal,” said Geoff Gourley, One10’s founder. “This is exactly the type of social enterprise we want to work with and support to scale, the next 12 months will be very exciting.” Said Geoff.
Melbourne-based enterprise Health Delivered was conceived last July at Hack Aging hosted by HealthXL and supported by Ernst Young. The company has been gaining traction in the past six months with some big health players such as Bupa, Northern Health and VicHeath prior to launching their app for dietitians. The app reduces preventable chronic diseases through a better experience between dietitians and their clients. As Australia’s obesity problem keeps rising, so does the pressure on the health system from preventable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. These often go hand and hand and can all be reduced and kept under control through diet.
The founding team is led by Pete Saunders, a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and a Board Director at Global Ideas Forum, and is supported by a team of two co-founders. “We are aiming to assist dietitians in how they manage their clients by providing them with the tools to become proactive in their practice. This extends across private, community and hospital care, tackling 34 conditions that can be improved by dietetic management. Our ultimate vision is to create an experience that promotes engagement with recommended nutrition interventions.” said Pete, co-founder of Health Delivered.
One10 has provided an undisclosed amount of seed funding and is seeking additional capital to close out the round in coming months.
Since December 2015 One10 has received more than 150 applications and is currently finalising another 6 – 10 participants in their accelerator. In late February One10 also launched its ‘Corporate Program’ that is a ‘Framework’ enabling corporations to deploy budgets that may be set aside for grants, sponsorship’s, partnerships or innovation challenges.
